HemoCue participates at the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva

In May, HemoCue proudly participated in FIND Diagnostic Day and Devex side meetings held during the 78th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland. WHA—the decision-making body of the World Health Organization—gathers global leaders to shape the future of health.

For over 20 years, FIND has led the way in transforming diagnostics, particularly for infectious diseases—driving access to affordable, quality testing and advancing pandemic preparedness.

This year’s themes from FIND, including “Without DiagnosticsMedicine is Blind” and WHA’s “One World for Health,” resonate deeply with what we are doing at HemoCue: advancing care through accessible, accurate point-of-care diagnostics that support better health outcomes worldwide.

“I am deeply moved by the personal stories being shared—stories about those in need—which makes me even more committed to drive accessibility to the last mile. I am equally impressed, motivated and charmed with how H.E. Budi Gunadi Sadikin, MOH of Indonesia, is driving access to improve a healthy life span, and for Egypt as shared by Dr. Hatem Amer, MoH, and their inclusive screening programs. It is not only about adding years to lives but healthy life to their years,” says Lena Wahlhed, Director Alliance Development at HemoCue.

This global gathering serves as a platform for impactful dialogues and emphasizes the critical role of diagnostics in shaping resilient healthcare systems. For HemoCue, it’s an opportunity to reaffirm our purpose and deepen partnerships for a healthier world.

“As a global diagnostic leader, it’s an honor to be part of the World Health Assembly event that drives forward health equity and innovation. At HemoCue, we’re focused on delivering solutions that empower frontline healthcare,” says Kasper Schweitz, President of HemoCue.
