Questions

There are two different controls available: HemoCue® WBC Control and HC WBC Diff Control, which should be used with the HemoCue® WBC System and HemoCue® WBC DIFF System, respectively. These controls are manufactured by R&D Systems, Inc and distributed outside the US by EuroCell Diagnostics.

No, only the HC WBC Diff Control should be used with HemoCue® WBC DIFF System.

The HemoCue® WBC DIFF System can be used with either HemoCue® WBC Microcuvettes (for a total white blood cell count) and HemoCue® WBC DIFF Microcuvettes (for a total white blood cell count with a 5-part differential).

Yes, the HemoCue® WBC DIFF System can be operated with either a power adapter or 6 type C 1.5 V Alkaline batteries. When battery operated, actual performance will vary based on settings, environmental conditions, type of batteries and other factors. Estimated number of measurements using batteries is 20 measurements.

A white blood cell count result should always be interpreted in the context of patient history and other clinical signs. The HemoCue® WBC DIFF system will display a flag or an error code if a problem is detected within the system or samples. The explanations and recommended actions for each flag or error code are described in the manual.
